Stainless Steel Jewellery Care Guide
We use premium-grade stainless steel for our jewellery because it is incredibly strong, highly durable, and naturally resistant to rust, tarnish, and scratches.
While stainless steel is exceptionally low-maintenance compared to precious metals, different grades require slightly different care to keep them looking pristine. Find the specific care instructions for your piece below.

Grade 304 Stainless Steel Care
Grade 304 is our ultra-durable, hypoallergenic everyday steel. It is highly resistant to daily wear but can react to prolonged exposure to chemical compounds and heavy salt.
What to Avoid
  • Perfumes & Lotions: Never spray perfumes, colognes, or body mists directly onto 304 steel. Apply your lotions and scents first, let them dry completely, and put your jewellery on last.
  • Chlorine & Bleach: Remove 304 jewellery before swimming in chlorinated pools or using household bleach. Chlorine breaks down the protective surface layer and causes micro-pitting.
  • Saltwater: Avoid wearing 304 pieces during long ocean swims, as prolonged salt exposure can cause dullness over time.
Grade 316 Stainless Steel (Marine Grade) Care
Grade 316 is our premium, marine-grade stainless steel. It contains molybdenum, an element that makes it virtually immune to rust, ocean saltwater, sweat, and chlorine. It is built for the ultimate active lifestyle.
What to Avoid
  • Perfumes & Cosmetics: While 316 steel will not tarnish from perfume or lotions, these products leave a stubborn chemical film on the surface. This film traps dirt and rapidly kills the metal's signature metallic shine.
  • Harsh Industrial Chemicals: Keep away from heavy-duty industrial cleaning solvents, sulfuric acids, and abrasive cleaners.
  • Heavy Abrasives: While 316 steel is highly scratch-resistant, avoid rubbing it against coarse surfaces or steel wool, which can dull its polished finish.
Cleaning Routine (After Active Wear)
  1. Freshwater Rinse: Because 316 steel is completely saltwater and chlorine-safe, simply rinse the piece thoroughly under fresh tap water after swimming in the ocean or a pool to remove residual salts.
  2. Deep Clean: If it accumulates dirt, body oil, or sunscreen, wash it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
  3. Buff: Wipe dry and buff with a soft polishing cloth to instantly restore its bright, metallic shine.
Pro-Tips for All Stainless Steel Jewellery
  • Separate Storage: Store your stainless steel pieces away from softer metals like sterling silver or gold plating. Because stainless steel is so hard, it can easily scratch your other jewellery.
  • PVD Plated Pieces: If your stainless steel jewellery is gold-plated or black-plated via PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), do not scrub it aggressively. Clean it using only a damp, soft cloth and mild soap to protect the longevity of the color layer.
